I only bought them because they didn't have rhubarb and custards - those aren't individually wrapped.

Did I really type that my brother "brought a bag" of chocolate limes?
I must go back and edit that.

WTF is a chocolate lime? Do they really sell limes covered in chocolate? They sound horrifying.

Poor people from Tottenham have to eat them.
The 'chocolate' is actually just sh*t and the lime is a discarded abscess.

That's the first time I have ever seen a red mark next to a post.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
They're lime-flavoured hard sweets with a 'chocolate' core, which is probably just cocoa powder.
I'd be just as happy with pure lime sweets.

Well I never. I don't think I'd enjoy them. I'd probably try one if I had chewing gum to hand.

I was in a convoy of Sunderland fans heading north from Wembley on the M1 last night, all the way from where I joined in Derbyshire to where I left at North Yorkshire.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
I didn't get to traverse Junction 10 yesterday, because signs warning of 30 minute delays in Birmingham persuaded me to divert onto the A50. That has been smartened up since I last drove along it, a lot of the roundabouts have been junctionised so I reached the M1 quite quickly.
That's two southward trips in a row where I've had to divert onto a cross-island route - first the A66, now the A50.

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
With you diverting onto the A50 and me on my usual A38 route, our paths cross in the middle of the "Toyota Island" near Derby, next to the actual Toyota car plant. It's our secondary Junction 10!
Our exact point of path-crossing - me on top and you below, so to speak:

I see the Shell garage on the satellite roundabout has a little amenities building at the back. We could stop one day for a Costa coffee and some NHOTW talk

I'm not sure our actual paths will ever cross for real - I tend to go past around 8pm and you seem earlier in the day. It is a sort of fantasy mini-HotW meetup place though - the Toyota Island.
The idea of "crossroad" services does excite me a little as the people eating and drinking there will likely be heading in completely opposite directions, as opposed to the typical motorway services where everyone is heading the same way.

I wonder if StevieMidriffBaby, who's been known to visit J10, ever comes as far east as Toyota Island?

Re: The all-new all things driving thread
The irony is that none of us through-travellers actually touch Toyota Island as both of our expressways fly underneath it. I have however come off there twice in the past when heading north when the overhead gantries have announced road closures for my route around Derby, and joined the A50 east before then joining the M1 lower down than usual to continue my journey north.
