Momus, or Nomus?

The Call of the Wendigo wrote:It needs to stop sounding like West End Girls. The resemblance is distracting me.
I've just discovered that there are two versions of West End Girls, and the line I remember from when I first heard it, 'Who do you think you are, Joe Stalin?' is from the first 1984 version, which is very odd, because it was originally only available on a 12" or something.

This track's like the stuff on PM Dawn's first album but without whatever it was about that album that appealed to me.

Momus is simply too talented for his own good.

I hope it doesn't go on as long as the TransSiberian Express.

Every elpee he's ever recorded always has at least two absolute zingers on them.

It's a 'riff' on "Trans Europe Express".

If you knew that (very lengthy) track then you might 'get' the various bits.

Anyway, I knew there was a reason I didn't listen to this record all that much.
There're are're a few decent tracks, but ultimately he's at a dithering crossroads.
It's a kind of final, clumsy flail at commercial success, that is ultimately - and inevitably compromised by - his thematic scattershot approach.

This track is pretty good.
In terms of his 'pop' output that is.
He's obviously becoming harshly OTT production-wise.
I think he knows that winning the fame game is up.
