I suppose if you like, I mean really, really like the Beatles and I need more I could understand the appeal.

Not for me though, seriously I'd rather listen to Oasis's take on the Ruttles than this.

It is over.

It was a pleasant listen but too heavily indebted to the Beatles who they were clearly not as good as.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it. Excited

Cultural and historical factors need to be taken into consideration.

The legacy of the band and (at least two of the band's members) should be acknowledged too.

This was a band of 'coloured' musicians making music at the height of Apartheid and - as with countless other bands the world over - were completely influenced by the BeadleZ (and the BBs)...

In a way Carl Wilson's recruitment of Chaplin and Fataar prevented The Flames from developing into a more interesting band.
