Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I do not like Talisker anything very much at all.
Nor Laphroaig.
Nor many of the Islays in general.
Like drinking a liquid bonfire generally.

That's just what I like. The contrast between the smoky taste and the cool ice. A bit like lapsang souchong tea.

The room only stopped spinning about an hour ago. Thank God I remembered to have my pre bed pint of water and two paracetamol, or I'd currently be in hell.

The first chug glug has made me go a bit queer.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I had 4 gins at the pub at lunchtime with an old friend. It was a pub we used to meet in 1996, so nostalgia hung heavy in the air.
When I got back in the afternoon I was tempted to carry on boozing, but instead I let the gins wear off peacefully while I watched the New Year episode of the Avengers, Dressed To Kill.
Then I had a load of cheese and biscuits and swilled down 4 large vodka-vermouths, before going to bed at 10pm.

New year Absinthé.
Makes the heart fonder or something. Fondant, possibly.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
Feeling a bit ropey this morn.
Punchily strong IPA, buttered, oaky Chardonnay, champagne c*cktails (with raw cane sugar cubes, cognac and bitters), then whiskey (yes, whiskey with an e cos it's Irish).
Not the wisest of boozular combos for sure.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I am making myself a mildly spiced stew or chicken, potato, leek, carrot, celery and courgette.

I've just realised I've forgot the potato!

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
Y'know, I genuinely thought people would be upset about my potatoes.

Ohh I just thought you'd had the mildly spiced stew instead of the chicken, potato, leek, carrot, celery and courgette.

I can see this ending very badly.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I actually very quickly roasted some spudulikas and added them to the stew.
I then, quite unwisely, threw a load of rice in - y'kner, to, uh, soak up the gallons of thin gruel-like muck...
Anyway, it was, that evening, when freshly made, really good - delicious and hydrating.
It did however make for a less-than-satisfactory left over meal (over the next 2 days ).
