There were definitely some in the studio when they recorded this.

I quite like these bits, where they forget The Jazz.
Almost.
Almost.

It is over.
It was a total waste of time.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Yes, I liked the Non-Jazz bits.
Although it seemed to be more of a John McLaughlin than a Miles Davis album.

Re: Miles Davis - In a Silent Way (1969)
Well, that was quite anticlimactic.
I was swayed to listen to this (over the other two 'jazz' options) tonight because I had a quick scan of the Wikipedia page and saw that it was considered at the time something of a controversy (a la Bob Dylon going electric).
But it was instead undemanding and mostly pleasantly soporific.

Also, I understand that as a bandmaster (and not only a trumpet player) MD is doing so much more than just acting as one sonic element in the band, but still!
We hardly heard him playing.
And half the time I think I thought it was a saxamaphone I thought.

Still, time.
What do any of us know?
We weren't there.

It could have been Wayne Shorter, or whatever his name is.
