Canvey Island, apparently.

What a boring way to end the album.

You know when you hear the first 2 seconds of a song, and you don't need to hear the rest?

That wasn't a penalty.

He never left.
He was waiting for the manager of the pub to pay him so he could then punch him in the face anyway.

It is over.
It was competent but unambitious and workmanlike.
Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

Re: Dr. Feelgood - Down By the Jetty (1975)
I just checked out Johhny Winters cover of Boney maronie from 1969 or something, and you can hear all the extra bits they added to jazz up something that would just be too old fashioned.
They didn't even try. Other than having the rhythm guitarist higher in the mix that is.

Not gr8 that.
Plodding pub-rock blues let down by even that fairly undemanding standard/benchmark.
Flat production (possibly due to a poor remaster?) and an overwhelming sense of contemporary cultural irrelevance.
A blues rock version of one of those 1970s M&S cookbook illustrations of 'manageable at home' French haute cuisine.
Duck a l'Orange but done with Bejam chicken bits and Chivers medium cut marmalade.

That said...
I've been seriously generous with my score out of respect for the dead.
By which, I mean the less ambitious artistes of the pub rock sub-genre.
An Wilco Johnson.
