It is over.

It was a mixed bag of one good song and a load of not-so-good songs. As others have said, it could easily have been cut down to a single album without losing anything.

Now to look back at the thread and see what everybody else made of it.

I shall give it 3 stars.

Well, that was long. So much bland and generic filler, but three or four excellent choons thrown in for good measure. Someone please release an edited highlights on a single LP/CD/tape and all will be forgiven.

Still, it's all better than Stairway to Heaven.

Lyrics

Plant took pity upon these girls who would flock to the hotel rooms of the band to offer them "favo[u]rs".

In an interview he gave in 1975, he provided an explanation of the lyrics:

If you listen to "Sick Again," a track from Physical Graffiti, the words show I feel a bit sorry for [the girls].

"Clutchin pages from your teenage dream in the lobby of the Hotel Paradise/Through the circus of the L.A. Queen how fast you learn the downhill slide." One minute she's 12 and the next minute she's 13 and over the top. Such a shame.

They haven't got the style that they had in the old days ... way back in '68.

These qualifying words simply make matters worse, Mr. Plant.

S'alright. I just don't think Jimmy can write a riff anything as good as Tony Iommi, and it's just overbaked, and overlong. Couple of good if overlong songs.

I think I prefer the (70s) Quo to the Led when it comes to the BloozRock these days. I must be getting old.
