The Official Creepy-Crawly Home Invasion Thread
OK, the last several days I've had my bedroom window open.
I've also had the kitchen window open to get the breeze going through my mini-flatlet.
And, yes, they've started.
They've started coming inside.
Right now there's one of those thicko flies that fly around in a vague zig-zaggy motion directly in the middle of you room under the overhead light.
And there's something that, at this distance, looks like a black speck moving aimlessly across the ceiling.
I think it might be one of those little jumping spiders.

You've drawn that with a felt-tip pen.

There's been a daddy longlegs zizzing about clumsily in the lounge tonight - despite the fact I've seen zero outside this year!

I don't think I've ever seen one outside.

This big fat twerp's been in the exact same place on my bedroom curtain for three days straight.

I hope you've got some fruit for them.

Or they might take to eating human flesh.

What if it teams up with the fruit flies?

The moth is indeed still there.
It's now a subtenant and pays me rent*.
One fruit fly a week.
I'm sensing that this is a fiscal arrangement that's not working out in my favour.
* please don't tell Westminster Council

We always struggle with horrible little brown shelled things with all the white legs waving about. The ones that you used to find when you picked up a paving slab as a kid. Please, no pictures. They're so ugly.
I bought a little vacuum cleaner to zap them immediately. Every night I have to use it three or four times. I've wondered if the others are coming to find out where their friends have disappeared to.
A couple of years ago I complained to the council when their environmental health officer falsely said to a neighbour (who delighted in telling me) that a bluebottle problem was 'most likely' from my flat.

I used to get them in my house all the time but, for some reason, they seem to have abandoned me, the last couple of years.

That's the ones. Lucky you! They make me feel f***ing sick, I've just killed another one within the last few minutes.

I haven't been to the Marble Arch Mound either btw. I won't be going. I don't enjoy anything to do with hills. When I want to look at antiques I have to start at the Notting Hill Gate end to walk down Kensington Church Street because going up it just annoys me. Same sort of logistical planning required on charity shop hauls - start in Hampstead and walk down to Belsize Park.
