Once again the turning point of the week is upon me. I've had my 4 evenings of merry internet mayhem, now I have to do 3 evenings of good plain food, washing up, housework and early bedtime. The cosmic balance. For it is written and ever must be shall.

I've not had an alcoholoic drink in ages.

I was going to crack open the Absinthé when Eurovision was on.

But I forgot.

I have undertaken the Bank Holiday Weekend Wine/Blue Nytol Challenge!

Essentially you consume a certain quantity of wine, then, once you've put the bottle in the recycling bin and the glasses next to the sink, you drop a blue Nytol and continue wandering round the internet.

If you wake up less than 2 yards from your bed then you have beaten the Bank Holiday Weekend Wine/Blue Nytol Challenge!

I had a Bombay Sapphire at a function at lunchtime. When I told my colleague what it was she said 'It isn't blue!'

I explained that I too had been similarly disappointed the first time I bought a bottle of it.

Contained within my Iceland food parcel is a 3 litre bottle of cider.

It was dirt cheap.

This gives me confidence that it is top quality.

I got a bottle of Angostura bitters in my Tesco consignment. I want to try putting it in my vodka instead of tonic.

Ooh don't. It won't be pleasant. I think you're meant to coat the glass with it and tip the remainder down the sink. At the very least, you'll need the tonic too.
