I have done the click part of click-and-collecting a new phone from Argos.

It has 5G just like Wendi's, but was more expensive

Indeed I did.

Unfortunately the description was trickily worded, it says 'supports dual SIM cards'. I only read that bit, and didn't see the next bit 'SIM types: nanoSIM and ESIM'.

You can't put two actual SIMs in it like you can my existing phone.

In, "Settings," is there an, "Optimise battery use," option?

And have you tried turning off, "High Performance Mode"?

And tried turning on, "Power Saving Mode"?

Sadly my phone lacks the first two options, and the third doesn't seem to be quite what I'm looking for.

But these suggestions have inspired me to research into equivalent options.

The oldest phone has begun to malfunction more and more often. Looks like I bought the newest one just in time.

I have ordered a PAC code to transfer the oldest phone's number to the newest one. When it arrives, the oldest phone will be honourably retired.

The oldest phone started working again, and I tried the spare Smarty SIM they sent me in it, but it didn't work.

It was probably a good idea to stop using it anyway, it only had Android 7 and some of my apps had begun to stop supporting it.

Ever since I discovered old mobile phones can be used as security cameras, I've refused to throw them away, in case I ever decide to set up a CCTV network in my house, composed entirely of phones.

Smarty have blocked access to archive.org because they say it's adult content.

I've had to pay £1 to unblock it.

In your browser's Settings, choose, "Use secure DNS" in the security section and then select Cloudflare 1.1.1.1 instead of your current service provider.

Selecting Open DNS instead of Cloudflare might work too .
