I researched the 5G battery problem, and apparently it's an artefact of the way some 5G base stations are set up. That might explain why yours (Wendi) didn't have the same issue.

Anyway, I've fixed it by setting the phone to 'preferred network type 4G'.

The (Fangirl) 3 network is completely down! Which means New Phone, the one with the Smarty SIM, had to be rotated out halfway through my working day, and replaced by Old Phone which is on EE.

I knew I'd be glad I travelled with two phones on two different networks one day.

1pmobile? You kept that very quiet. That is the EE-based provider that Old Phone uses.

I'm jolly glad that when 1pmobile went dead last Easter (with no explanation then or now btw) I resolved thenceforth to always have with me not just two mobile phones, but two mobile phones each on a different network.

Ever since I decided to have my landline disconnected, three years ago, I've had Smarty as my main sim, and kept a 1p Mobile sim as backup. yes

I've got a new phone. The one I had before kept acting very odd, and yes it's OK as a backup, but not a daily driver. This was my new one I got two weeks before the election:

One of my phones got down to 1% last night. I didn't realise the charger cable was defective.

I have utilised my other phone's dual SIM capabilities by installing an O2 SIM, which gives much better reception in weird EE/3 weak spots like this hotel.
