Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I've just had my usual Sunday austerity tea of salad, followed by chickpeas with salt and pepper, and a slice of my nice home-made bread.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I thought I'd treat myself to a pancake with honey. It leaked despite being folded in half, so I licked the plate and misjudged. My nose is now very sticky but I'm not ready to remove my make up so I'm coping with the sensation as best I can.
I once had a rather attractive (in a dissolute sort of way) black smudge on the end of my nose from a dodgy lighter. The rest of my face was particularly well made up so I decided to leave it there for the night out I was going on.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I've had all sorts of gluten free health things delivered for my mothers arrival home. According to reports she only had one bottle of beer last night, so that's marvellous. I was round earlier to put the heating on, stick these things in the fridge, arrange the sofa with soft blankets and place one of my baby soft Kandinsky print cashmere cushions for her head.
The other two will be arriving in New York as planned tomorrow, and are booked to see a Cuban and New Orleans Jazz evening at the Lincoln Center. Compared to some of my uncles rather obscure tastes, I think my son has got off very lightly. It could've been a five hour Wagner recital set to homoerotic all nude Can Can routines. Etc.

It's good of you to take so much trouble for your mother after all the disruptive behaviour you've reported on her part.

Well, she has a very loving nature, thwarted with several tragedies, so I would never make her fly home to a slammed and bolted door.

Getting back to the contents of my mouth, recently these were a Tesco mini petit pain roll with a fish finger in it. Yum.

I've been unsuccessfully trying to find the thread where I was advised to try Jura whisky. Jura was £6 off in Tescos today so I got some. It's not as smoky as I was hoping.
It does have a quote from George Orwell inside the tube, the 'un-get-at-able place' one (GO having gone to live on Jura in 1947).

Yes indeed.

My verdict is that Jura isn't decided enough for me. I either want the smooth mainstream flow of Famous Grouse, or the seaside bonfire of Talisker Storm, not something halfway between.

I've got a 6 quid bottle of Wine tonight and it's flipping lovely, Rioja "Gran Familia" discounted at a CO-OP near you now.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
I've just had the last of my four-year-old cuppasoups. Now I have no hot drinks left in the house and I can't get any more because I'm not allowed to leave the house.

I had a baked potato with a half-size tin of macaroni cheese (those were the only size left in Tescos this morning).
I've made a ruling that, while I can still go out, and while there's still food in the shops, I'm not allowed to eat anything from the stash, I have to go out and forage. And those are what I foraged today.

Re: What's that in your Mouth?
We have a similar contingency regarding all food purchases except deliveries. We each had a solitary baked potato. Caviar needs used up so we had them with that, and some leaves. Butter for the boy, none for me.
Tomorrow is corned beef sandwiches for lunch and defrosted cauliflower cheese for dinner.
As per above discussion - I read that the hot liquids thing is a load of old nonsense, on the same page as drinking bleach. Once you've got it, you've got it.

The last thing I'm worrying about is getting COVID-19.
It's civilisation collapsing that's on my mind. It only takes a certain percentage of power and water workers to be off sick to do it.

Horrifying. Good article.
It already has collapsed. We are facing the prospect of drinking Robinsons mixed fruit diluting juice by the end of the week.
